Police in Jackson are probing two homicides that took place on Sunday.

One occured at 3:00 p.m. on Longino Street at Fortification Street, police said. Authorities said police received a call about a vehicle fire and when they responded, they found a Honda Civic on fire.

In the fire, they discovered a deceased male in the passenger side of the vehicle. So far he has not been identified.

The second shooting took place at 5:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Highway 80.

Police say a man was found fatally shot multiple times. They are working to nail down a suspect and a motive currently.
