Jackson police dealing with overnight homicides

Jackson police are investigating multiple major crimes that have occurred in the last 24 hours.

A release from JPD spokesman Sam Brown stated that a shooting occurred around 7 pm Monday at Rose Street and Grand Avenue.

Timothy Swann, 43, was found shot to death in a gray SUV. Police say he collided with a tree, a fence, and other vehicles after being shot. Investigators are still gathering information on possible suspects and motive.

Detectives are also investigating a incident that occurred around 9pm last night at 791 W. County Line Road.

Tommy Anderson, 56, was dropped off at St. Dominic Hospital by an unknown black female driving a black car. Anderson had been stabbed in the chest and in the left side. After attempting life saving measures, Anderson died at the hospital.

The suspect was later identified as 50-year-old Sabrina Crawford. She has turned herself in at police headquarters and is charged with murder.

Police are also looking into an aggravated assault/ kidnapping that occurred yesterday afternoon in the 2400 block of Morton Avenue.

A 18-year-old female was shot with a shotgun by a black male after a fight with the suspect’s girlfriend. In the process a 2-month-old child was taken by the suspect and an unknown female.

The child was later returned safely. The suspects are still at large.
