On Thursday, July 11, the Jackson Police Department began investigating a homicide that occurred near Chastain Drive and Garvin Street.
Detectives determined that the victim was shot at this location and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Jackson Police Department has arrested 57-year-old Eddie Gilbert in connection with the case. Gilbert faces charges of Murder, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Drug Possession.
