An incident previously reported as a murder-suicide is now being investigated as a double-homicide, Jackson police said late Tuesday.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024 the Jackson Police Department began an investigation into two people who had been fatally shot in the 2600 block of Belvedere Dr.
At first, evidence led detectives to believe the deaths were a result of a murder/suicide. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
As the investigation by detectives continued, further information began to point to the case being a double homicide rather than a murder-suicide.
Detectives have identified a person of interest in the case.
