Meridian police have identified human remains discovered last year off Jimmie Rodgers Parkway and E. Adams Road as belonging to Geno Lashawn Jones, 33, of Meridian.
The remains, found on Nov. 13, 2023, were confirmed through DNA analysis, according to Acting Capt. Dareall Thompson of the Meridian Police Department. A passerby came across the remains while walking in the area, prompting the investigation.
Jones was last seen by a family member on Sept. 27, 2023, around 6 p.m. in the vicinity of Eighth Avenue and 16th Street. He was reportedly traveling by bicycle.
The investigation into Jones’ death remains ongoing, Thompson said.
