The bracket for the 2022 NJCAA Women’s Soccer Division II National Tournament has been revealed, the No. 3 ranked Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will begin pool play on Monday, Nov. 14 in Tucson, Arizona.
No. 1 seeded Holmes will play on Monday at 10 a.m. vs. No. 12 Cape Fear. They will then play No. 8 Schoolcraft at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. All times are Mountain Standard time.
The Lady Bulldogs, now 16-1-2 on the season, join seven other schools as automatic qualifiers to the 2022 NJCAA Division II National Tournament at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona on Nov. 14-19. The other qualifiers include: Southwestern Illinois, Central; CCBC Essex (MD), East; Schoolcraft (MI), Great Lakes; South Suburban (IL), Midwest; Northeast (NE), Plains; Cape Fear (NC), South Atlantic; and Phoenix (AZ), West. The at-large teams include: Jones (MS), Northwest (MS), Heartland (IL) and Pima (AZ).
Of the 12 teams in the tournament, the Lady Bulldogs have played four of them. Holmes defeated Jones, 1-0 during the regular season. They also played Northwest twice, once in the regular season tying 1-1 and in this past weekend’s Region 23/Gulf South District Championship, where the Lady Bulldogs and Rangers tied at one during regulation and the two overtimes, but the Lady Bulldogs claimed the match and championship on penalty kicks.
