High-Speed Chase Ends In Vehicle Crashing Into Church In Harrison County

According to WLOX, a high-speed chase led to the arrest of 24-year-old Nicholas Steele on Tuesday after his vehicle caused damage to Faith Baptist Church.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, deputies located a stolen Mercedes at a hotel on Canal Road and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver, identified as Steele, fled, initiating a high-speed pursuit.

The chase ended at Faith Baptist Church, where Steele jumped out of the moving vehicle and allegedly fled on foot. The still-moving Mercedes crashed into the church’s A/C unit.

Deputies searched the woods nearby and arrested Steele. He was found walking in the area. He was also carrying cocaine.

Steele faces multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, felony fleeing, and possession of a controlled substance.

He is currently held on a $60,000 bond set by Judge Albert J. Fountain.
