On Thursday, March 14, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 49 in Harrison County.

A 1998 Freightliner Dump Truck driven by 29-year-old James Scarbrough of Saucier, MS, traveled south  n Highway 49 when it collided with a 1998 Chrysler Minivan driven by 68-year-old John Edward Potts of Saucier, MS, crossing over Highway 49 at Nobles Road.

John Edward Potts and passenger, 13-year-old Victoria Hutcherson received fatal injuries from the crash and were pronounced dead at the crash scene.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
