Mary Apel

Elevated heat stress conditions are expected to continue over much of the area Thursday into Friday.

Afternoon heat index values will climb to between 105-110 degrees. Increasing rain chances across central-southeast Mississippi will offer slight breaks in the heat.

Residents are reminded to find air conditioning when possible, to stay hydrated, and to check on pets and neighbors.
