Hattiesburg woman arrested after trying to stay in home she allegedly burgled

A Hattiesburg woman was arrested Monday after police say she was trying to stay in a home she had broken into.

Hattiesburg police said in a release Tuesday that Whitney Mills, 36, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. after leaving a home in the 700 block of Mamie Street. She was allegedly trying to live in the home after breaking into it.

Some property that Mills had allegeldy taken from the residence was also recovered.

Police said Mills was charged with one count of residential burglary and was booked into the Forrest County Jail.
