The Hattiesburg Police Department posted on Facebook warning the public of several reports of women’s wallets being taken from their shopping carts.
Police said that over the last day, there have been several reports of females having their wallets stolen from their purses left in shopping carts in several department stores, as well as in neighboring jurisdictions.
Police advised the public to remember to always be aware of your surroundings and never leave your purse or wallet unattended in your cart or in your vehicle when you’re loading groceries into it.
Police advised that it can only take a matter of seconds for someone to take it.
