On May 9, 2015, the world changed for Hattiesburg Police Department when officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate were killed in the line of duty.
Ten arrests would be made in that case, and the alleged trigger man would die in jail. Even that didn’t bring the closure needed after HPD’s great loss.
Around the state, like HPD, other agencies took the last week — designated as National Police Week — to honor those they’ve lost.
HPD made this video and shared it on social media.
