Gulfport Police are searching for an “armed and dangerous” teen suspect.

Gulfport police are searching for a 17-year-old suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred late on Wednesday night.

Gulfport police received a call from a local hospital around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. After arriving on the scene, officers came into contact with a male teenager that was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was then taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Detectives were able to discover that 17 year old, Robert Devon Cherry, shot at a car with many occupants, but only hit one person.

Cherry is a 17-year-old black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is around 5 ft, 9 inches tall, and weighs about 150 pounds. Police also included that he has a firearm with him, so he is considered armed and dangerous.

The 17-year-old is being charged with six counts of Aggravated Assault with a bond set at $600,000.00.
