Greenville Man Arrested On Drug Charges

On Friday, December 16th, around 2 pm, officers with the Greenville Police Department performed a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Highway 1 South with a blue Nissan Altima that had an expired tag.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 41-year-old Edward Phillips of Greenville.
After further investigation on the traffic stop, it was discovered that Phillips was in possession of a felony amount of Marijuana, along with Schedule II Oxycodone.
Phillips also had an outstanding warrant for the City of Greenville.
Edward Phillips was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent, Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Schedule II Oxycodone 89 Dosage Units), Contempt of Court and other traffic violations.
Phillips was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility where he sits on a $50,000 bond.
