According to the Town of New Hebron’s Facebook page, the grandson of the New Hebron Police Chief was killed in an ATV accident Monday night.

7-year-old Cruz Lewis was driving the side-by-side by himself on Monday evening when he crashed.

Many first responders, EMT’s and police officers responded but were unable to save his life.

Lewis was the grandson of Police Chief George “Junior” Walker.

Lewis was in 2nd grade at New Hebron Attendance Center.

The Town of New Hebron said they are grieving with his parents, Kirk, Callie, and his brother Mercer.

“Please lift them up over the next days and weeks to come. Our Chief Walker has been with many of you during a time you’ve lost a loved one. Now is our time to stand by him.”
