Geico’s Recycled Rides and Barnett’s Body Shop gift car to Valvoline worker that went viral

Kirk Montgomery, the Geico Gecko, and Devin Wooldridge

Devin Wooldridge used his entire lunch break on Friday to handle some personal business.

That personal business involved Devin, 20, getting his first car. It was given to him by Barnett’s Body Shop and Geico’s Recycled Rides Program.

We told you about three weeks ago that Devin was riding his bike in traffic when Cindy Crane, a Good Samaritain with the power of Facebook, stopped to offer him a ride to work.

She posted about the experience and the hard worker that Devin is, and she asked people if anyone could possibly help. She said Devin also didn’t have an apartment and was living out of a hotel.

Her post was shared more than 2,500 times, and it caught the eye of Kirk Montgomery at Geico.

On Friday, Devin was given a 2017 Ford by Geico and Barnett’s, and just before he drove off, he said he’d driven before, but he’d never had anything to drive that was his.

Watch the video at the top of the page to see the whole presentation and hear from Devin.
