Friday weather: Sunny and 80s; heed local burn bans!

Mary Apel

From the NWS:
Limited recent rains, low humidity and occasionally gusty winds will result in increased wildfire danger today. The highest threat area will be in extreme southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana and northwest to north-central Mississippi where an elevated threat will exist. A limited threat will exist for areas along and west-southwest of a line from Eupora to Pelahatchie to Laurel. Open burning in the elevated risk area is discouraged and extra caution is advised with open burning elsewhere. Heed local burn bans and avoid activities that could produce sparks or flames near dry vegetation.

Today we’ll see sunshine and temps in the mid 80s. Overnight expect lows to fall into 50s with partly clear skies.
