Mostly clear skies are expected as hot temperatures officially return back into the region. Highs will range from mid 90s to around 100.
Afternoon high temperatures will rise into the upper 90s and lower 100s this weekend into next week as increasing heat builds into the area. Heat index values will range from 110-115 degrees generally along and south of the I-20 corridor. To the north, heat indices may reach as 110 degrees. Heat related illnesses, including an increasing risk for heat stroke, will be likely with prolonged outdoor activity. Frequent cooling and hydration breaks are recommended when working outdoors.
