First responders in Pearl were able to rescue a man who was trapped when a tree fell on his home on Reynolds Street in Wednesday’s storms.

According to Pearl Fire Chief Todd Burkes, the call came in around 11:30 a.m. and firefighters worked for an extended amount of time to free the man because of the angle at which he was trapped and because of the stormy weather. The Pearl Police Department also assisted on the scene.

The man was under the care of three paramedics as the extraction was going on, Burkes said. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries to his legs by Pafford Ambulance.
