Moselle, South Jones, Johnson, and Boggy volunteer fire departments responded to a brush fire at Joan Drive and Highway 11, along with Ellisville Fire Department on Monday.

When firefighters arrived, they found approximately 20 acres on fire with three structures in danger.

Firefighters immediately went to work upon arrival at the scene and were able to extinguish the blaze and protect the structures, with the help of the Mississippi Forestry Commission.

The PIO of Jones County, Dana Bumgardner reminded the community that the burn ban is still in effect.

Jones Countians should not burn anything or participate in any activity that may cause sparks.
