Firefighters battled a fire on 30 acres in Jones County.

The fire broke out on Mag Hatten Road.

Hebron, Calhoun, Soso, and Pleasant Ridge volunteer fire departments responded.

A landowner behind 76 Mag Hatten Road was burning a field which he said was about 80 acres, when the fire got out of control and spread to the woods bordering the field.

Firefighters stage at 76 and 102 Mag Hatten Road to protect the structures from the approximately 30-acre unintended blaze.  The Forestry Commission also responded to the scene.
