According to the ScottyRay Report, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating a murder that happened at East Mississippi State Hospital.A hospital employee was arrested and charged with the murder of a patient.
The ScottyRay Report said the Meridian Police Dept. and Metro responded to a call at the hospital. The patient was taken to Jackson for medical treatment but died Sunday.
The patient was identified as Christopher Hamilton. His cause of death is pending an autopsy.
Hospital employee Keshawn Carpenter was arrested and booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center. He has been charged with murder. The ScottyRay Report said that according to his linked in account, he is employed by East Mississippi State Hospital.
Carpenters’ bond has been set at $250,000.
This is an active investigation.
