Ellisville man arrested for meth in Jones County

Jones County Sheriff’s Department narcotics agents arrested Martin Ashcraft, age 43 of Ellisville, overnight on Monday on a charge of Possession Of Methamphetamine With Intent To Distribute.

Known locally by his nickname “Zeus Capone”, Ashcraft was out on felony bond for a previous illegal narcotics charge. His bond is expected to be revoked on Tuesday by a Jones County Justice Court judge.

Ashcraft’s 12 year old son was in the vehicle when JCSD narcotics agents effected a traffic stop and took Ashcraft into custody. A charge of Child Abuse is being added as a result.

“Zeus is no longer on the loose,” notes Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin. “We continue to press the fight against illegal narcotics distribution networks in Jones County. Maybe one day these repeat offenders will learn their lesson.”

Berlin had high praise for the JCSD Narcotics Division. He notes, “Our narcotics agents work day and night to identify, build cases against, and arrest those selling illegal narcotics here. They do one heck of a job keeping the pressure on these dealers.”
