Two people were killed in a fire in Lafayette County on Monday, February 19.

According to the Lafayette Sheriff’s Department, at 6:30 a.m., the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Lafayette County Fire Department responded to a house fire on County Road 119.

Once they arrived, they said the structure was fully involved.

72-year-old Rickey Wray and his wife, 74-year-old Cathy Wray, were both pronounced deceased at the scene by Lafayette County Coroner Glenn Coleman.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No foul play is expected.
