A drive-by shooting in Walthall County left one person dead and injured one other person.

According to WLBT, the shooting happened on Sims Thornhill Road in Tylertown.

Police said that 25-year-old Travis Amar Williams and 23-year-old Javon Lamonte Carpenter were on a side-by-side when a car drove up and shot them.

Williams was transported in an ambulance to Forrest General and Carpenter was airlifted, but he died upon arrival.

WLBT reports that a witness says they saw a navy four-door Sedan speeding away from the scene after the shooting took place.
