JACKSON, MS – Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ Mississippi Museum of Natural Science invites visitors to embark on a globetrotting expedition around the world to discover the Age of Reptiles!
The “Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors” exhibit will be open from June 8, 2024 through January 5, 2025. This outdoor and indoor exhibit features 11 animatronic dinosaurs and cutting-edge research, and visitors will be whisked back in time on a dinosaur adventure and a tour of an Earth that is very different from the one we inhabit today. The exhibit is included with Museum admission or MMNS Foundation Membership. Visitors can also enjoy special weekly dinosaur-themed “Fun Fridays” from June 7 – July 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. – Noon and a “Tea Party with a T-Rex” on November 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. – Noon.
“Come face-to-face with the giants of the past. This exhibit is your chance to experience a prehistoric Earth and walk alongside the dinosaurs – it’s a thrilling adventure for all ages!” said Museum Director Charles Knight.
Visitors will explore a time before the continents as we know they existed, when arid deserts covered Brazil and polar darkness was the norm in Australia, and see animatronics such as the mighty T. rex of North America, the bi-pedal predator Herrerasaurus, one of the first dinosaurs to appear on Earth, and the bizarre, bony-crested Oviraptor from Mongolia!
“Dinosaurs Around the World will transport visitors back in time to the unrecognizable landscape of Pangea in a playful and educational way,” said Tom Zaller, President & CEO of Imagine Exhibitions.
Dinosaurs Around the World is produced by Imagine Exhibitions. The exhibit is sponsored locally by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation, Nissan, Entergy, Trustmark Bank, Regions Bank, H.F. McCarty, Jr. Family Foundation, and other generous sponsors.
