The Holmes County Sheriff’s Department is still searching for a man suspected in the death of a 26-year-old Ocean Springs man who was trying to buy an ATV off Facebook.

Montavious Landfair is wanted in the death of Kyle Craig, who had driven to Holmes County from the coast to buy a 4-wheeler he found on sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Craig’s family reported him missing, which began the search. He was found shot to death on Long Branch Road near a truck stop in Holmes County, robbed of a large amount of money he had taken with him to buy the ATV.

Craig’s sister told WLBT that she had used his phone to track him after they hadn’t heard back from him.

“We drove four hours, four hours to his last known location. We pulled up exactly on his last known location and there was my brother laying on the road murdered,” said Craig.

At first, Craig’s truck was missing, but the trailer was found on I-55 near mile marker 144 near Holmes County. It had been shot multiple times. The truck was found later on Douglas Road in Holmes County, WLBT reported.

A juvenile was arrested and others could be charged as accessories, but police are still working to find Landfair.

Landfair is known to law enforcement after being arrested in 2019 for calling in bomb threats to local schools. Information came in regarding bomb threats made to several schools, and even while the investigation went on, the threats continued.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $2,500 cash for any information that leads to a felony arrest.
