ORIGINAL POST:

According to an email sent by Lake Caroline’s owner’s association, “there has been an accident on the lake.”

Sources say there is a person missing in the water. Lake Caroline officials encouraged residents who have sonar on their personal boats to come join the search.

WLBT reports that “Madison County EMA Director Albert Jones says a dive team is responding to the lake. Other agencies on the scene include the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks.”

The initial email said, “it is with sadness that we announce that there has been an accident on the lake. Please avoid the north side of the lake, especially between Catherine Point and the dam. Please do not pull inner tubes or ski in this area as the waves are impeding search and rescue. Additionally, the dam area of Bellevue Drive between the wooden bridge and the Mermaid is closed to drivers. Please avoid the area whether on the lake or on the road where the emergency vehicles are parked.”

This is a developing story.
