A woman was arrested by the Corinth Police Department after a traffic stop on January 8.
40-year-old Kandis Murphy was taken into custody after a traffic stop. Murphy was driving and she had a passenger in the car named Jason Parrish.
The officers realized both of them had active warrants so they were taken into custody and transported to the Alcorn County Jail.
During a routine search by female jail staff during in-processing, officers found that Kandis Murphy had concealed a meth pipe and plastic container with six grams of Methamphetamines under her clothing.
Murphy was processed in the outstanding warrant and subsequently charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and later charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
The narcotics were processed into evidence and are going to be transported to the State Crime Lab for confirmation testing.
According to Corinth police, the felony drug charge will be presented to an Alcorn County Grand Jury and the misdemeanor charges will be handled in Corinth Municipal Court.
