Coast Guard Rescues Three Boaters Near Pascagoula

According to WLOX, three boaters were rescued by the Coast Guard on Monday.

Their boats began to take in water near Pascagoula.

According to the Eighth Coast Guard District, watchstanders received a distress alert around 8:11 a.m. The alert was registered to a 50-foot commercial fishing vessel, Dat Parker, according to WLOX>

When the watchstanders made contact with the boat’s owner, she told them that her husband and two other people had gone fishing in the boat and she wasn’t able to get ahold of them.

A boat crew, launched from the Coast Guard Station Pascagoula Response Boat-Medium,  was able to locate the sinking boat. One of the men was in a life raft and the other two were standing on the bow of the boat.

The Coast Guard rescued the three boaters and took them to Bayou La Batre, Ala.

WLOX wrote that all three boaters are reported to be in stable condition.
