Coast Family Physician Elected President of Statewide Association

A family physician, Paul M. Pavlov, MD of Ocean Springs was elected president of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Pavlov was elected president of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) in July. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has practiced for 38 years in the D’Iberville/St. Martin community at North Bay Family Medicine Clinic.

Since that time, he has also been on the medical staff at Ocean Springs Hospital and Merit Health.

Dr. Pavlov has been a member of the MAFP since 1984 and has served on the Board of Directors, as secretary, as vice president, and as president-elect before being elected president by his peers.

After receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Pavlov attended medical school at the University of Mississippi School of
Medicine. He completed residency training at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, AL, before returning to Mississippi to practice.
Active in the medical community, Dr. Pavlov is also a member of the Coast Counties Medical Society and the Mississippi State Medical Association.
Dr. Pavlov has served on the board of the North Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, and on the school boards for both Mercy Cross and St. Patrick High
School. He is a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church.

Personally, Dr. Pavlov and his wife, Theresa, have been married for 38 years. They have three children – Matthew, Anna and Anthony – and two
granddaughters.
