Coahoma County firefighters respond to crash with entrapment

Firefighters in Coahoma County responded to a wreck between a car and an 18-wheeler on Tuesday, according to a Facebook release.

Coahoma County Fire Department reports that around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, units responded to the area of Highway 61 N near the Coahoma/Tunica county line for the collision. Fire crews arrived on the scene to find multiple patients entrapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters were able to extricate the victims, and then turned care over to awaiting EMS personnel. All victims were airlifted to nearby trauma centers.

Authorities say the incident also received an automatic response from the Tunica Fire Department due to its location.

Information and condition on the victims of the crash has not been released by CCFD.
