A 9-year-old is in the hospital after a vehicle ran into a home in Jackson Wednesday night.
According to the homeowner’s daughter, around 9:00 p.m., a woman was in bed when she heard a loud crash. The woman called her daughter telling her she thought someone was breaking into her home.
A vehicle ran into the side of her brick home on Watkins Drive right into a young child’s bedroom.
The 10-year-old suffers from Rex Syndrome and she flew down the hallway when the vehicle hit the house.
According to the homeowner’s daughter, the driver of the car was a female and had unrestrained children in the vehicle.
She told them she got distracted with her kids and ran into the home.
The homeowner’s daughter told us that Jackson police arrested her and charged her with several charges including reckless driving and child endangerment.
We have reached out to Jackson police to confirm this arrest, with no reply yet.
The homeowner is in a hotel for the time being while her house is being repaired.
The 10-year-old child has a gash on her head but is recovering in the hospital.
