According to WLBT, a Capitol Police officer resigned after he was charged with Careless Driving and DUI.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said Steven Frederick Jr. was arrested and charged with careless driving and DUI Sunday.
He ran a driver off the road and ran into several signs along U.S. Highway 49 in Covington County.
State troopers took the officer into custody and he was taken to the Covington County Jail.
Frederick was serving as a sergeant with Capitol Police and he resigned after the incident.
