On Sunday, Byram police officers responded to a shots fired call within the area of the apartment complexes.
Once officers arrived they discovered that an armed robbery and attempted carjacking had occurred where the suspect shot at the female victim during the crime.
Police are looking for Marcell Cornellius Martin Jr. as a main suspect in this crime. Martin is a member of the Vice Lords Street Gang. He’s 23 years old and known to frequent the Jackson area. He has previously pleaded guilty to two armed robberies and a car jacking, and there’s a murder charge from 2020 on his criminal history. So far no word from Jackson police about what that was.
He’s wanted on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, carjacking, and felony possession of a firearm.
Martin is considered armed and dangerous.
