On December 13, Prentiss County Deputy Kolby Knight noticed a vehicle parked at a church.
Deputy Knight made contact with the driver 40-year-old Steven Powell of Booneville.
After further investigation, Steven was found to have a controlled substance that appeared to be packaged for sale.
He also had a firearm in the vehicle. Steven was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute enhanced with a firearm.
Judge Kimi Kitchens set his bond at $50,000. North MS Narcotics Agent Grady Smith will present the case to the next grand jury.
