We have an update on a story we did Tuesday.

On Tuesday, a woman made a report at Jackson Police Department Precinct 1 about a missing person.

Captain Kevin Nash, after speaking with the citizen, went to the area that was mentioned in the report and canvassed the area and discovered a deceased black male floating in the creek on Old Highway 49 East. The deceased had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Dan Belton. Investigators are still gathering evidence and information on this incident.
