LINCOLN COUNTY — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead early Wednesday at a home on JJ Lane. Deputies were called to the residence at about 6:20 a.m.
The sheriff’s department received a call from a resident on JJ Lane who said that her grandson had called her saying he had been shot at an unknown residence on JJ Lane.
Deputies arrived on scene and, with help from the family, located the home where they believed the victim was located.
Deputies had to make entry into the trailer and found the victim. They attempted CPR and had medical personnel from KDMC come to help attempt to save the victim.
While at the home, they found the suspect in the rear bedroom holding a female in the room. After a struggle, they were able to arrest the suspect.
Investigators said no additional details, including the name of the victim or the circumstances leading to the shooting, have been released. The sheriff’s office said more information will be provided when the investigation is complete.
