Authorities have released the identity of the bodies of a man and woman found dead at a house on Midway Road in Raymond.

57-year-old Suzanne Marie White and 54-year-old Merril Eugene Schutt were found February 1 along with a dog when police responded to the residence around 7 p.m. for a welfare check.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said deputies said the front gate and front door were locked, and forced entry was used to get through.

Authorities said tbe couple had been dead anywhere from 7 to 10 days.

Police said White died from a single gunshot wound to the back, with her cause of death being ruled a homicide. Schutt had no apparent injuries, and his cause of death is pending toxicology results.
