The former Ramada Southwest Hotel and Conference Center on Ellis Avenue burned overnight.

According to Jackson FD Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Armon, firefighters were called to the scene around 11:00 p.m.

JFD called in other agencies, including Raymond Fire Department, to bring water and help fight the fire, as water hydrants near the hotel had little to no water pressure.

It took several Hinds County fire departments and volunteer agencies to put out the flames.

There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
