A Marion County shooting on Sunday has left a Columbia man dead.

Chadrick Daniels, 26, was found unresponsive by deputies after a 911 call about a shooting on Arthur B. Johnson Drive close to 11 a.m.

Efforts to resuscitate Daniels were unsuccessful, authorities said.

Investigators arrived and began to probe the incident and called in the Hattiesburg Police Department Crime Scene Unit to process the scene.

Authorities were notified of an injured person at a local hospital that was involved in the shooting. Investigators made contact with Anthony Poole Jr., 22, of Memphis, who was receiving medical treatment from injuries received during the incident.

The nature of Poole’s injuries is not clear, nor is his role in the shooting.
