UPDATE: Harrison County homicide victim identified

UPDATE:

Harrison County authorities have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred Friday, according to WLOX. Coroner Brian Switzer identified the victim as LaZarius Smith, 16, of Gulfport.

Police are asking the community to help them identify a homicide victim found Friday in Harrison County.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department said the victim was found on Highway 15, south of Posey Bridge Road. He is a black male between 19-25 years old and has a money sign on his left ring finger.

The victim’s hair is a cross between a tall fade and short dreads or twists. He was wearing a red and black jacket, and a black Nike shirt with a “Just do it” emblem. He was also wearing grey jogging pants, white Nike slides, and marijuana print boxer shorts.

Investigators are also asking the public if they were in that area or saw people or vehicles in the vicinity between 1 p.m – 3 p.m. on the day the body was found.
