Parchman held a family day for inmates to spend time with their families for the first time in 40 years.
During the event on Saturday, inmates and family were able to spend time together outside. at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman.
The event went from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
69 inmates attended, and over 100 visitors were present to see their loved ones.
The facility’s leader, Supt. Marc McClure said,
“Seeing an inmate father throw that football with his kid is something I won’t forget.”
