A Tupelo man was denied bond in the case of molesting and sexual battery on a minor.
According to police, on November 22, the Tupelo Police Department responded to the NMMC Emergency Room for a report of molestation and sexual battery on a minor child.
The investigation of these allegations led police to charge 68-year-old William Lee Young of Tupelo, with Molesting (Touching a Child for Lustful Purposes) and Sexual Battery.
Young was arrested on December 1, 2022.
On December 2, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Sumner ordered Young held without bond.
This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury next.
