Crime Stoppers asks for information from streets in recent Wiggins homicide

If you heard something on the streets about the shooting of 19-year-old Jacoby Bolton, police need your information.

The Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers Facebook page put out a plea this week asking for help finding the person who fatally shot Bolton in Wiggins on Tuesday.

Wiggins Police Chief Jeff Thomas said officers were called to a home on Hope Avenue around 6:30 p.m. in response to a shooting. When they got there, they found Bolton with a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to Memorial Hospital in Stone County in critical condition. Just a short time later, he died of his injuries.

Crime Stoppers is openly appealing to those who hear the street chatter that may not always reach law enforcement.

“Did you hear something on the street but not sure if it’s correct? Let law enforcement determine if your information is true,” they posted.

Contact Crime Stoppers anonymously by sending a tip by the P3 Tips app or by calling 1-877-787-5898. If your tip leads to an arrest, you are eligible for up to a $2500 reward.
