UPDATE: The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department has arrested Detrick Kelton Ocampo. He has been charged with the murder of Tanya Ocampo, his mother. His bond has been set at $250,000.00. This is an ongoing investigation.

Sheriff’s deputies in Lauderdale County are conducting a death investigation in the Center Hill community north of Meridian, according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was a female, according to Sheriff Billy Sollie. Her death appears to have happened sometime before 9:30 a.m. Friday morning at a house in the 9400 block of Highway 495. Deputies and Metro Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene.
A male person of interest has been taken into custody. That person was apprehended on Grissom Road roughly an hour after the initial 911 call Friday morning.
Sollie says investigators are working on arrest warrants now.
