Late Wednesday afternoon, the Jones County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD) narcotics agents executed a search warrant at a house located in the 2300 block of Highway 11 South.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 62-year-old Jenny Hancock, who faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Distribute.

Hancock is currently being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility. She awaits her initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court, where the charges against her will be formally presented.

The raid follows several months of community complaints and investigative work. JCSD Narcotics Division Lieutenant Jake Driskell stated, “We had several complaints from the community regarding suspected illegal narcotics sales and activity at this residence over the past several months. It takes time to investigate and build these cases leading to the issuance of a search warrant.”

Sheriff Joe Berlin stated, “Those selling illegal narcotics in our communities should know that while we may not come knocking on your door today, that’s no guarantee we won’t be there tomorrow to pay you a visit,”
