Man out on bond for murder in Hattiesburg arrested in different homicide in Nashville

A truck driver from Hattiesburg out on bond for a Mississippi was arrested in Nashville Wednesday night on charges in another fatal shooting.

According to Nashville Police Department, Alex Williams, 23, surrendered on a 1st degree murder indictment for the August 2020 fatal shooting of Darrell Walker, 55, behind a market on West Trinity Lane.

He was out on bond after being arrested and charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Jermaine Hunter, who was shot on June 29, 2020 outside his house on McCall Street in Hattiesburg.

According to WMC NewsChannel 5 in Nashville, in August 2020, Metro Police officers found Walker suffering from gunshot wounds. He died shortly afterward at a local hospital.

A witness reported hearing the shots and seeing a person run from the scene toward West Trinity Lane. Metro Police say Williams was identified as the suspect.

Williams is being held without bond in Nashville.
