According to Terry Police Chief Mike Ivy, several suspects in a string of carjackings have been arrested.

Ivy said Ti’ Jerrical Thornton, 16, Karmello Gaines, 16, and Deterrious Williams, 16, are all in custody after the community helped identify them from surveillance photos that were released. All three teens are from Jackson and are charged as adults.

A release from the city of Ridgeland says there is also a fourth suspect who has been arrested.

The carjackings suspected to be connected to the three teens occurred in Terry, Ridgeland, Jackson, Clinton, and there was an attempted carjacking in Byram.

All three are faced with multiple counts of carjacking and aggravated assault by the city of Terry. Gaines was out on bond on aggravated assault when he allegedly committed the carjackings and assaults.

Ridgeland Commander Brian Myers said in a release that there will be additional charges when the joint investigation is complete.

“Our main concern is protecting these communities by getting this armed and dangerous crew of teens off the street,” he wrote. “Metro area law enforcement remains dedicated to this common goal.”
