Three people have been charged in connection with the August 10 shooting death of a woman and a 14-year-old boy.

D’Amonte Abrams, 23, and DeAngelo Abrams, 24, both of Friar’s Point; and Jerry Seamster, 30, of Clarksdale, are all charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the shootings.

On the night of the shooting, police responded to a call where Regina Smith-Hopkins, 51, was found dead, and three other people were taken to the emergency room in Clarksdale. Once they had arrived, Zymarious Smith, 14, died of his injuries as well.

Family members of the victims told Fox 13’s Tom Dees that there was a family gathering to mourn a loved one who had just passed away and someone opened fire into the crowd.

There is no update on the other two people who were injured in the shooting.
